References
9 - purusha – In this regard, the following verse of bRhadAraNyaka upanishad (II. v.18) is relevant –
puraH sa pakshI bUtvA puraH purusha AviSat || iti |
sa vA ayaM purushaH sarvAsu pUrshu purISayaH
nainEna kiMcanAnAvRtaM, nainEna kiMcanAsaMvRtaM ||
‘That Supreme Being first entered the bodies as a bird (the subtle body). On account of his dwelling in all the bodies, He is called the purusha. There is nothing that is not covered by Him, nothing that is not pervaded by him.” (Translation by Swami Madhavananda)
10 – sAla vidaLana – ‘sAla’ tree - Shorea robusta – Please refer to vAlmIki rAmAyaNa, kishkindhA kANDa, Chapter 12 (verses 1 – 4).

Comments
2 – nigama nIraja amRtaja pOshaka – Nourisher of nAda – the nectar born in the ocean called vEdas. In the kRti ‘nAda tanumaniSaM’ – raga citta ranjani, SrI tyAgarAja states that ‘nAda’ is the essence of vEda. Accordingly, this epithet has been translated as ‘Nourisher of nAda – the essence of vEda’.
3 – sat-kavi hRdAlaya – resident in hearts of poets - this may refer to poet-sages like vAlmIki, vyAsa etc.
4 – vAgIndra – Though this has been translated as ‘brahmA’, there is some doubt about the form of this word – can it be ‘vAgindra’?
5 – Subhra – In some books, this word has been taken as qualifier for ‘SEsha’ – nAgEndra (Subhra nAgEndra).
6 – vara mantra grahaNa lOla – In some books, this has been translated to mean the ‘bala ati-bala’ mantra in which SrI rAma and lakshmaNa were initiated by sage viSvAmitra. In such a case, the word ‘lOla’ stands aloof. Therefore, the meaning ‘gAyatrI’ has been taken.

7 – anurAga rAga rAjita kathA sAra hita – In all the books, the word ‘rAjita’ is mentioned. However, with this word, it is problematic to translate the epithet, taking the normal meaning of the word ‘hita’ - ‘beneficial’. Therefore taking meaning ‘established’ for ‘hita’ this epithet has been translated. However, in my opinion, instead of ‘rAjita’, it should be ‘rAcita’ in order to derive the meaning ‘beneficial’ for ‘hita’. ‘rAcita’ and ‘racita’ mean same thing.
anurAga rAga rAcita kathA sAra hita – This should refer to SrI tyAgarAja himself and others who have similarly composed musical rAmAyaNa.
8 – OMkAra panjara kIra – Please also refer to kRti ‘O rAma O rAma’ – rAga Arabhi, where SrI tyAgarAja describes the Lord as OMkAra dhAma.
11 - adbhuta su-kavi jana hRt-sadana – who is resident in the hearts of wonderful great poets – might refer to sages like vAlmIki.
